From Scientist to Artist

My name is Romy Blystone and I have been working with computers since 1985. In 1995 I began exploring the Internet and decided to start FRIENDLY Web Design shortly thereafter.

Since then, I have had the privilege of serving hundreds of clients in the areas of design, hosting, advertising & marketing, training, and consulting. It hasn’t always been easy and I’ve made my share of mistakes. Looking back, I can see a time before cell phones… before YouTube, PayPal, eBay, Amazon, Google, Facebook, and Twitter. Suffice it to say, quite a bit has changed on my watch.

The many years behind my desk have taught me a lesson or two about design, hosting, marketing, time management, billing and invoicing, returning emails, etc. In fact, I believe it’s safe to say that my past experiences (i.e. hard work, study, application, examination, and of course, plenty of trial & error and falling flat on my face) have at least earned me a badge of credibility.

Still, lessons only take you so far.

Any professional that has been in the field for any length of time will tell you that there is a “coming of age” with regards to reaching one’s potential. It’s when and where all the lessons learned come together and clarity and purpose meet. It’s during this time that principles are forged, strategies developed, and techniques mastered. Intelligence combined with experience, integrity, and a passion for sharing and serving, is what it means to be a true artist.

Today, I’m proud to call myself an artist. For it is this level of character, confidence, and calm that I offer my clients and which has generated the types of results we are all proud of.
